Hello! So we did a short run of CDs for our last show so we'd have some physical copies to shill if anyone were interested. Unfortunately they didn't arrive until two weeks after that show.

These are no-frills affairs in a cardboard sleeve. They will also be included in the FLUXUS BOXES (along with a bunch of other cool art shit) which ship out next week. But we do have some stand-alones if you'd like to party with some Gen X media.

If anyone wants them signed I will do so, just put it in the notes of your order. I can also personalize the message, something like "nice abs!" or "9/11 was an inside job!" Up to you.

  • Alabaster Fluxus Box - limited edition!!

You are no doubt familiar with the FLUXUS art movement, which -- was largely inspired by John Cage, included such luminaries as Yoko Ono, was pretty much the last true avant-garde art movement thanks to those annoying AF post-modernists -- George Maciunas spearheaded until his death in 1978. It is said that the movement died with its primary facilitator, Maciunas, which is silly. If a movement dies because of one person's demise then it was never a movement at all. Consider that the word "movement" indicates -- well -- motion: For it to stop so suddenly for reasons that are strictly biological and non-artistic.... I mean that's horseshit, yes? Yes.

Anyway, I would argue (successfully, with enough time and enough wine) that the FLUXUS movement, insofar as BEING a bonerfide movement, didn't even start until Maciunas left this mortal coil. Because that's when it moved beyond being one eccentric weirdo's personal art jam and entered the zeitgeist. And so it is without a great deal of further ado that we announce that Circle of Sighs' third full length, "Alabaster," will be available semi-exclusively in the not-at-all-esoteric Fluxus Box Format.

Which means that you will receive the album encased in wood (in a similar fashion as Flux Box 2 shown here), on a physical listening format of the sort that might've be playable on the stock stereo of a late 90s Jeep Grand Cherokee, along with a thumb drive that includes high-res audio files and several videos.

Additionally, the box will include artwork created by some of our friends/collaborators who work in other (non-slap-bass-related) media. The artwork is amazing and will make you poop your pants. However what art comes in which box will be a surprise, to both you and me. But each of the 23 boxes we create will be hand-painted by at least one member of the CoS collective. You'll have to order and wait to find out more.

These will sell out -- not fast necessarily but -- eventually -- so I suggest you get in on the ground floor and PRE-ORDER that kit.

(((two tag lines I've been working on, choose your own)))

about

Critically-acclaimed experimental music collective Circle of Sighs transcends expectations yet again with their new album, Alabaster.

Since their formation, this anonymous creative cadre has refused to be categorized or defined. Herein its third album blends elements of IDM, black metal and hip-hop to create something wholly new.

Alabaster releases digitally on Friday May 6, 2022 ("Bandcamp Friday") via Bandcamp and all the usual streaming services. CoS will also launch physical pre-orders at this time, which will only be available as a limited edition Fluxus Box.

Fluxus Box? Yes, Fluxus Box. Owing its origin to the Fluxus art movement (co-founded by CoS's spiritual leader, John Cage), the Alabaster box will contain the full album on CD and will include a thumb drive containing high-resolution audio as well as videos for each of the album's songs. Additionally, it will include works created by several CoS-adjacent artists, writers, performers, and collaborators. Each box will be hand-painted by members of the CoS collective and will be hand-numbered as well.
